Tipp-Monroe Community Services sponsors many events throughout the year for residents of Tipp City and Monroe Township to enjoy. These events include, but aren't limited to; Breakfast with Santa, the Community Garage Sale, Cloring Contest, the Halloween Parade, the Memorial Day Parade & Bike Brigade and the Run for the Mums 5k Race.
 

Breakfast With Santa

Santa will be visiting Tipp City and will be available for a "Santa Style" Breakfast (cookies, donuts, juice and milk) on December 5, 2009 from 9:00 - 11:00 am. This annual visit will be held at Broadway Elementary and will be a morning filled with games, crafts, food, fun, and sharing. More information will be available through the schools or call Tipp Monroe Community Services at 667-8631. Free tickets will be available prior to the event.

Location: Broadway Multipurpose Room
Cost: Bring a non-perishable food item or a new unwrapped toy
Day/Time: December 5, 2009 from 9:00a.m. - 11:00a.m.

Community Wide Garage Sale

So what’s the big deal about a garage sale? If you ask that question you have never been to Tipp City on the first Saturday of May. Over 140 garage sales are located through out the city with garage sale enthusiasts coming from all over Ohio (or at least as far as Piqua). Every fast food restaurant is packed and the city is buzzing with activity. The Tipp City merchants’ participant as well by putting on specials for the day. It is a good day to buy or sell!

Halloween Parade & Costume Judging

Let’s scare the dickens out of the town! Halloween is a great holiday. When else can you dress up in a fun costume and eat candy? Get your costumes ready for the annual Halloween Party and Parade . The parade and party is open to children from 3-12 years old and is led by the Tippecanoe High School Band (in Halloween garb!). The parade will begin at 6 PM starting at Broadway Elementary School and end at Tipp City United Methodist Church where costume judging will take place. Costume categories are: Scariest, Prettiest, Most Original and Best Cartoon or Fictitious Character. Come be part of the fun!

Memorial Day Parade

Come, children of all ages, and bring your patriotically decorated bikes, strollers, buggies or tricycles and join the Memorial Day Celebration Parade. The parade is held on Memorial Day and is a Tipp City tradition. This event is planned and organized by the American Legion. Following the parade will be a ceremony, remembering all our American heroes, held at Maple Hill Cemetery. This is a morning enjoyed by parade participants and on-lookers as well.

Mum Festival

Sept. 25, 26, and 27. The theme this year is “We Love our Mums”. Festival Site Activities include FREE Entertainment all weekend, Arts & Crafts and Merchant Booths, Festival Food Booths and Children's Activities. Go to www.tippcitymumfestival.org for more details.

Old Tippecanoe Holiday Festival

From the Willowtree Inn Bed and Breakfast to the oldest row of homes in town, seven homes will be opened to the public for touring on Saturday, December 5th from 1-5 pm. A new twist to this Tipp City tradition will be the pairing of Tipp City Area Arts Council artists with the homes. Each home will feature one artist’s work. This artistic touch is a way to bring attention to the Council, which was formed in 2008. Tickets will be on sale in advance through TMCS and available the day of the event at the Tipp City United Methodist Church.

Thanksgiving Coloring Contest

It’s turkey time! Know what that means? It’s time for the TMCS annual Thanksgiving Coloring Contest. Contest pictures will be distributed through the schools and at the TMCS office. The contest is open to children grades K-7. Entries will be judged and prizes given to the winner of each grade level. Call 667-8631 for details.

Tippecanoe HarvestFest

Join the fun on Saturday, Oct. 31, 7 p.m. -11 p.m. at Second and Main Streets for the third annual Tippecanoe HarvestFest. Live band, costume contest, drinks and fun! A project of the Downtown Tipp City Partnership. Visit: www.tippecanoeharvestfest.com for more information.

31st Annual Run For The Mums

The Run for the Mums is a 5k race sponsored by Tipp-Monroe Community Services in Conjunction with the Tipp City Mum Festival. The race will be held on Saturday, September 26th, 2009 and will begin at 8:00 AM sharp! Race will be held rain or shine.
